More than ever before retirees are dependent upon their investments to generate retirement income. With fewer companies providing traditional pension plans, retirees are being forced to assume the investment risk associated with their retirement assets. Retirees seek investment choices that offer safety but also provide growth opportunities to meet their income needs for both today and tomorrow. How to invest? Fortunately, we can help.
The goal of our Asset Management services is to earn a rate of return of 3% to 5% greater than inflation, depending on a client’s tolerance for risk. We believe this can be achieved by investing in a portfolio that is diversified into several asset classes.
In the management of portfolios, we are guided by the investment approach used by several public pension plans, including OCERS and CalPERS. OCERS is the pension plan for the employees of the County of Orange, while CalPERS is the largest public pension plan in the USA. It manages over $200 billion in behalf of 1.5 million retirees and employees of the State of California. Although we use these pension plans as guides, we do not mimic them. In fact, each client’s portfolio is individualized to reflect his/her unique preferences.
Our Asset Management service is performed with a non-discretionary trading authority. This means that Ulivi Wealth Management needs to get client approval before any trade recommendations can be executed. This give client’s more control over his/her account. We prefer to have portfolios custodied at custodied at TD Ameritrade.
In pursuit of our Asset Management goals, we provide the following services:
We provide clients with quarterly reports that detail the performance of each investment in the client’s portfolio; as well as compare the overall performance and investment allocation to the client’s financial goals. We conduct an Annual Review meeting in which we review the client’s net worth, investment allocation and performance, cash flow estimates, tax projections, and other financial issues.
Clients are provided transaction confirmation notices and monthly summary account statements directly from TD Ameritrade. Ulivi Wealth Management downloads price and transaction data from TD Ameritrade, as well as captures cost basis data for tax preparation purposes. The actual preparation of performance reports is outsourced to a highly recommended firm.
The cost of this service is based on a percentage of Assets Under Management (AUM), per the Asset Management Fee schedule, subject to a minimum fee. The fee is calculated each quarter based on the client’s account value and the annual prorated rate; and billed at the beginning of each quarter. The client is billed directly through his/her TD Ameritrade account at the beginning of each quarter.
The Asset Management Fee schedule is as follows:
The minimum level of assets to be managed is $200,000 and the minimum annual fee is $2,000 for investment management services. The level of assets and the fee minimums are negotiable or may be waived at our discretion.
